A gift to the Sioux City Public Schools Foundation is a wonderful way to pay tribute to the life of a family member, friend, or colleague. Honorary Gifts

Making a gift to the Sioux City Public Schools Foundation to celebrate a special occasion or achievement is a unique and appreciated way to honor someone you admire. Graduations, anniversaries, birthdays - all are appropriate occasions on which to give an honorary gift. It's sure to be the right color and size! Honorary Gifts may be directed to a special interest, or may be given as unrestricted and used as directed by the Foundation Board for a special project, program, or improvement.

Estate or Planned Giving

Remembering the Sioux City Public Schools Foundation in your will or estate planning can maximize your estate by avoiding taxes while your money is invested in the mission of The Sioux City Community School District.

The Foundation staff will be happy to work with your legal advisor or estate planner to create the best plan for you and your heirs.

We can't take it with us; but we can leave it in good hands with the assurance that our legacy continues to be invested in public education improvements for the Sioux City community.

Area of Greatest Need: Unrestricted Gifts

The Sioux City Public Schools Foundation Board of Directors consists of community leaders who are familiar with the needs of the Sioux City Community School District as well as the mission and capabilities of the Foundation.

Many donors to the Sioux City Public Schools Foundation choose to make their gift unrestricted, which allows the gift to be used in an area where strategic planning has shown a need. Grant requests for funds are made by Sioux City Community School District teachers and staff and reviewed by the Foundation Board before funds are made available. Sometimes the Foundation funds fill a funding gap, and sometimes the Foundation funds the entire project.

Interest earned on the "unrestricted" funds is used to support the operations of the Foundation.

Unrestricted funds are appreciated because they allow the flexibility to meet unexpected needs.
