Reducing the education gap by supporting students from low-income homes allows access to programs, experiences, and classroom supplies which are readily available many of their classmates. Equity also addresses closing literacy gaps in a school district where one in five students is learning English as a second language. Finally, equity funds act as a springboard for talented and gifted student, providing opportunities for excellence above and beyond the classroom experience.
