Supporting quality education in Siouxland
The Sioux City Public Schools Foundation is on a mission – a mission to provide students with the tools they need now to excel into the future. We work closely with the Sioux City Community School District to identify key areas of interest. From programs like Adopt a Grad, which ensures every graduating senior has a cap and gown on graduation day, to the Sioux City Community Schools’ playground project, aimed at enhancing elementary school playgrounds, we focus on needs of all sizes.
The Foundation touches thousands of lives each year through education, advocacy, and philanthropy. With your help, we can continue our mission to help students believe, achieve, and succeed.
Why the Foundation Exists
A misconception about public education is that taxpayer dollars cover every expense necessary to educate our students. That could not be further from the truth. State funding is limited. The Sioux City Public Schools Foundation is here to support programs, services, and initiatives that state funding simply does not cover.
Without the Foundation, hundreds of students would not have a warm coat to make it through the cold winter months or engaging curriculum kits to spark students’ curiosity in science. Graduating seniors may struggle to pay for a graduation cap and gown, and elementary students may not have the opportunity to explore arts and culture through live theatre performances.
The Foundation enriches the education of Sioux City students through countless initiatives and programs in arts and culture, STEM, career and technical education, and student need.
Why Give to the Foundation
In short, a gift to the Foundation can be life-changing for hundreds – even thousands – of Sioux City students. With 14,500 students and 2,500 team members, the Sioux City Community School District touches most every household in Sioux City, Iowa. Your support can positively impact the education of countless families in Siouxland and remove barriers to student achievement. The education of Sioux City students is your business because, someday, our students will be leading our businesses.
The Foundation’s Impact
